Annotation

This paper argues that the practice of Eskimo dancing and singing, valued by Alaskan indigenous people as a significant linguistic resource, can be regarded as a de-globalised sociolinguistic phenomenon with regard to an endangered language, as native people build a specific linguistic repertoire withdrawn from generalisable circulation in multilingualism.
