This study focuses on the mechanism of axiological proximization in political discourse, containing the addressee's construal of a constant ideological conflict that possibly materializes in a physical collision between the speaker/addressee and the adversary. This mechanism is particularly salient in the American rhetoric of the war-on-terror.
