Exploring nominalization development across an undergraduate academic degree program on Language, Literacy and Communication at The University of Manchester (U.K.), this study shows that although nominalizations tend to be considered characteristic of talented academic writing, they do not necessarily play a leading role within the academic writing of the analysed community.
