Annotation

This contribution to research on the principle of the separation of reference and role (PSRR), demonstrates that in the left dislocation (LD) construction, cognitive processing is facilitated, whereas in other marked-topic constructions, which do not show such a division, cognitive processing is not eased or even impeded.
