Annotation

Describing the user interaction mode with an embodied conversational agent (ECA), this study argues that, when enhancing naturalness of interaction, spoken input generates a warmer user attitude and a richer language, an effect which is more clear in users with a background in humanities. Recognition of signs of social attitude is thus required for adjusting the ECA's verbal and nonverbal behavior.
