This paper discusses question–response sequences in spontaneous Danish interaction. Danish is shown to have a high frequency of interrogatively and negatively formatted questions, when compared to languages with the same grammatical options. A high number of questions are deployed for making suggestions, offers and requests and repetition doesn't constitute a common means of answering a question.
