Annotation

This study presents new information on how English and Tamil speakers differ in their verbal descriptions of the same scenes. Whilst English speakers usually rely more on explicit mentions of verb arguments, they are actually more influenced by the pragmatic manipulations deployed in this study than Tamil speakers. And Tamil-speaking children mention fewer items than do English-speaking children.
