Annotation

This study argues that the deployment of Australian English non-standard present perfect (PP) extensions in a corpus of police media reports published on the Australian web, can represent a result stage filling a temporal gap between a past and a present reference time, the so-called extended-now. It is suggested that such an interval is applied to produce different meanings and discourse effects.
