Annotation
This study explores the interplay of language-specific factors and socio-cognitive motivations in the poetic construction of language and gesture in Japanese spatial narrative. It is argued that both linguistic and multi-modal semiotic resources can substantially add to the accomplishment of a holistic poetic configuration and an intersubjective scheme for understanding narrative.
