Arguing that integrationism addresses the ‘reality’ of name variation much more satisfactorily than either realism or social constructionism, this study presents an alternative, integrational exploration of fieldwork carried out in Bellinzona, the southern Swiss capital, regarding the names of its three Medieval castles.
