This study discusses the ritualistic importance of meetings -in this case weekly gatherings of Heads of Section at a British embassy- in reinforcing the existing powers, and the duality of the surrounding discourse, with an acclaimed ideology of shared power, knowledge, and opportunities that covers an authority-based system favoring status differences and imparity.
