Annotation

This study argues that the stylistic shift in the discourse of the Canadian Charter and the South African Constitution, moving away from traditional legal register towards greater transparency, can be accounted for by both a broader evolution toward “Plain English” in legal register, and the influence of the Human Rights Revolution.
