This paper discusses a recently observed religio-literacy practice amonst young multilingual muslims living in the UK, whereby participants choose a Roman script (i.e. English) in their challenge to memorise and communicate poetic verses and song lyrics drafted in languages traditionally linked to non-Roman scripts.
