Annotation

This paper explores recent Northern Irish attitudes towards linguistic diversity, referring to the elaborated Northern Ireland Languages Strategy and the ongoing controversy over Irish. It proposes a rethinking of the fundamental consociational arrangements to cover a deliberative democratic language planning model, on the long-term way from conflict resolution to multiculturalism.
