Drawing on interview data of personal experience, this study elucidates the existence of multiple frames for individual understandings of American language policy in Spanish-speaking Latina (im)migrants, suggesting that these discussions become fields of personal identity negotiation within a wider, mainly anti-immigrant socio-political context.
