Annotation

This study explores which linguistic and social factors predict acculturative stress in a nationally representative sample of Asian immigrants and Asian Americans. The interviews were conducted in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese and Tagalog. The findings show that native and English language proficiency, family cohesion, migration context and discrimination constitute the strongest predictors of acculturative stress.
