Annotation
This study explores the attributes of a fairly common script distribution -a Foreground Script against a Background Script- in verbal jokes, graphic humour and conversational spontaneous joking. If the found correlation of script distribution and (overt) target attribution holds, it is possible to explain a formal connection between joke structure and its derisive intention.
