Annotation

This quantitative analysis of (crosscultural variation in) impoliteness perceptions of English, German, Finnish, Turkish and Chinese students, reveals that three of the five categories of the employed Spencer-Oatey 'rapport management'-framework are crucial ones, viz: quality face, equity rights, and association rights.
