Annotation

This case study of the Welsh Patagonian linguistic landscape discusses how the Welsh heritage frame dominates in the visible Gamain landscape, linking Welshness with initiatives of commercial heritage tourism, and especially with ‘Welsh tea houses’. It also explores language choice (chiefly Welsh and Spanish), and multimodal and stylistic resources, deployed in framing Welshness, and composing it metaculturally, in diverse types of public signs and displays.
