Annotation

This study discusses how the role of English as a medium for Malaysian inter-ethnic interaction is gently being replaced by Bahasa Malaysia, leaving English to function in fields such as law, higher educantion and the private sector. The importance of these two languages in respectively the national and international domain, lowers the preference for ethnic languages in friendship and transactional fields.
