This study explores second language (L2) cross-linguistic influence in (English as a) third language (L3) phonology. The results confirm previous findings on the phenomenon of second language (L2) status and show a trend for L2 phonological transfer (cfr accent) in L3 production mainly at the initial L3 acquisition stages.
