Drawing on Bucholtz and Hall’s (2005) framework for analyzing identities in talk, this paper explores how a group of Arab American women negotiated their identities via their talk during focus group discussions, revealing affiliation towards each other and ambivalence and uncertainty, which indicate identities in the making.
