In this paper, we discuss two types of discourse: the first one—the discourse of cognitive impairment of a long-term care facility (LTCF) reflected in the institution’s language This study emphasizes the importance of 'small stories', told by cognitively impaired residents of long term care facilities in particular, and of languaging in general, as mediators of positive change, helping patients to reposition themselves as capable communicators.
