This study demonstrates that a group of typically developing Vietnamese (L1) – English (L2) bilingual children relied more on animacy than a test English-only group when interpreting English sentences and that they employed cue-blending to interpret English and Vietnamese sentences. Important within-group variation as to cue preference was examined as a function of age and L1 and L2 proficiency.
