Annotation

K. and L. claim that a purely semantic account of presupposition in natural language can be adequate and that contextual accounts of the notion are unnecessary. Moreover, they contend that the arguments in favor of a contextual notion of presupposition are based on a fundamental confusion about the relationship between grammar and pragmatics.
