Annotation
Outline of a grammar which is functional (i) in that it is required to function as part of a model of language production and comprehension, (ii) in that it assigns to every sentence, word and phrase a functional description which differs from the structural description of better known formalisms, (iii) in that it will assign to notions like topic, focus, given and new a status equal to that of subject, predicate, positive, negative.
