Annotation
This paper deals with phenomenology. The emphasis on the role of consciousness and the importance of immediate experiences could be invoked to motivate and inspire a straightforward pragmatic perspective centered around the actual functioning of language. In addition to this general and partly speculative implication for the field of linguistic pragmatics, there is also a direct line from phenomenology to pragmatics via the ethnomethodological tradition in sociology from which the field of conversation analysis has emerged.
