Discourse's collaborative character has been examined for different activities and linguistic levels. The present study reviews the relevance of this perspective to a better comprehension of storytelling events. The emphasis is on metadiscursive interactions that derive from the storyteller’s difficulty to evoke a word or linguistic form at a certain point of the story. Two varying collaborative solutions are identified and explored, and their link to framing and participation framework are discussed.
