This paper explores how participants in everyday German narratives organize and communicate emotional involvement, focusing on specific syntactic resources, referred to as 'dense constructions', used to contextualize affect and emotion. Although these resources do not follow the rules of Standard German Grammar, they represent conventionalized patterns that participants employ to perform various communicative tasks in particular communicative genres.
