This study describes transition space medium repair, a language choice practice among members of the Rwandan community in Belgium, as an interactional object by which adult members of the community switch from Kinyarwanda to French at transition relevance places in interaction with children, thus talking language shift from Kinyarwanda–French bilingualism to French monolingualism into being.
