Annotation

This study uses audio data from a course in engineering to illustrate how English as a lingua franca courses at a German university may be heavily influenced by intercultural and linguistic problems. Problems related to the use of a larger variety of communicative functions in EFL instructional discourse, for example negotiating forms of cooperation and resolving conflicts, might be reduced by utilizing apt training materials.
