Using two large datasets, this paper concentrates on two pairs of contrasting styles – posh and Cockney, and Creole and Asian English – and its explanation of stylisation is related to the ways that British adolescents, engaged with these sociolinguistic contrasts, experience class, ethnicity and migration.
