Annotation

This paper examines the use and function of ‘general extenders’ (especially of the three expressions: and stuff, and everything and and things) in the spoken language of British teenagers, as observed in the Bergen Corpus of London Teenage Language (COLT), and contrasts them with a comparable sample of adult language from the Diachronic Corpus of Present-Day Spoken English (DCPSE).
