Annotation

This study proposes enunciative pragmatics as a methodological approach to explain how written texts are contextualized in the act of reading. The enunciative approach is used to examine the cover page of a cartoon on the anti-globalization legend José Bové. Enunciative pragmatics is suggested to bridge the gap between text-based and process-oriented perspectives on language in use as well as between micro- and macrosociological analysis levels.
