Annotation

This paper explores the effects of quantitative and qualitative aspects of parental input on Japanese/English bilingual children's language choice. Whilst language choice patterns between parent and child are not always identical, parental responses to children's improper language choice significantly add to the stringent separation of the two languages. It is argued that input consistency requires consolidation by parental discourse strategies concerning language mixing in children.
