Annotation

This study discusses how question–answer exchanges between US college students and international teaching assistants during office hours, may become difficult when participants do not dispose of the same appropriate entry to the social, pragmatic, and interactional knowledge, and how participants may invoke various kinds of modifications for accomplishing mutual comprehension.
