Drawing on calls between customer-service representatives of an electronics organizationand and customers calling to check on the status of equipment that they had previously submitted for repair, this study adds to our comprehension of how pragmatic concerns can uniquely structure participants’ comprehension of what makes up an admittedly complete ‘unit’ of talk, as well as ‘allowable’ speakership places.
