Annotation

Using a new perspective on Jewish languages that concentrates on the repertoires of distinctive linguistic characteristics that Jews have employed in conjunction with local languages, this paper demonstrates how examining old and new languages together can be theoretically successful. It also emphasizes the role of the Internet in the maintenance of endangered languages, in language ideology and practice negotiation, and in sociolinguistic research.
