This paper shows that the re-embodiment of voice reaffirmed naturalized gender and race boundaries in Hollywood ‘wigger’ films from the mid-1990s to the early 2000s. The ideological impact of such representations both locally and more broadly confirm the importance of exploring mediatized practices and products from a linguistic-anthropological perspective.
