This study focuses on the situation of immigrant Hungarians and the Hungarian language status in Finland and discusses the relevance of language emancipation in this context. The situation of Hungarian in Finland is particular compared with other immigrant languages, as Hungarian was part of the Finnish nationalist language emancipation.
