Annotation

This study explores the cessation of indigenous language classes at a small public elementary school in the United States, from the standpoint of both nonindigenous school teachers and parents. It is argued that general support for indigenous language teaching is not enough for its successful implementation into schools. A number of issues concerning national and local educational goals must also be taken into consideration.
