Annotation
This study argues that in singling out somebody other than the speaker of the trouble-source turn to offer a repair solution, the repair initiator in multiparty conversation focuses on two broad considerations (sometimes simultaneously): progressivity and social epistemics. The study then explores how these considerations play up in a variety of settings and addressess implications of “other”-selection for our comprehension of the repair organization.
