This study demonstrates that storytelling activities and types both reflect and form social relationships among participants based, amongst other factors, upon their local negotiation of situational and portable identities. It is further argued that all interactionally produced data (including interviews), are context-bound, so that an analytical separation between the observer and the observed is not possible.
