Although it is conceded that presuppositions have a pragmatic function, it is argued that they must be included into semantics, since they can be lexically and/or syntactically determined and therefore belong to grammar. Some linguistic evidence from Hungarian is given in order to show that there are lexical items and syntactic structures which differ from each other only with respect to presuppositions.
