Annotation
This study contrasts a common conceptualization of the interview in applied linguistics, i.e. the interview as research instrument, with an alternative, namely the interview as social practice orientation. This juxtaposition shows ‘themes’ were occasioned and co-constructed, and how identity was negotiated in this specific type of speech event.
