Annotation
This study argues that the creation of the Spanish Bilingual Autonomous Communities (BAC) in 1978 permitted the development of various prototypic identities, ranging from a Spanish only and Autonomous only identity, to different transpositions of dual Spanish/Autonomous identities. Pro-Spanish and Moderate Dual identifiers are found to benefit from language acquisition in the Autonomous language and appear as cultural intermediaries.
