As part of sociolinguistic research on intra-speaker variation, this study discusses a ‘speech perception elicitation test’, targeted at revealing on which linguistic basis Austrian listeners to audio-excerpts from an Austrian TV discussion, perceive style-shifts between standard Austrian German and Austrian dialect.
