Annotation

Drawing on the notion of sociolinguistic scales, this comparative study proposes an explanation of the changing positions of the Irish and Inari Sámi languages, focusing on a comparison of two media personalities, to wit an Irish stand-up comedian, Des Bishop, and an Inari Sámi rap artist, Amoć, whose success as language-planning actors results from their mediated space use to affect micro-level language planning.
