Annotation

This study explores the impact of explicit phonetic instruction on the English as a second language pronunciation of Japanese students both in terms of accentedness and comprehensibility. Results suggest that explicit instruction significantly influenced comprehensibility (in the sentence-reading task), but yielded no foreign accent reduction.
