The first part of the paper (by S.J. Schmidt) is an attempt to determine the theoretical status and mutual relationship between text reception and text interpretation in a scientific approach to literature. The second part (by W.Kindt) is an attempt to place this problem in a model-theoretical framework, and to start a preliminary formalization.
